American Banker magazine last week published a story forecasting how Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo would lead the Senate Banking Committee if Republicans maintain control of the U.S. Senate.
The senator is in line to become chairman of the powerful committee. He has said he opposes much of the Dodd-Frank law that imposes massive regulations on the financial services industry, and he especially dislikes how the regulations make life difficult for small and regional banks.
Says the American Banker article: “If Republicans manage to keep a Senate majority following the elections this week, control of the banking panel will likely go to Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo, a right-of-center Idaho lawmaker who has proven willing to reach across the political aisle in the past.” To read full story (registration required) click here.
