News Release: Reclaim Idaho Backs IMD Waiver. Following months of Idaho lawmakers trying to restrict healthcare access to thousands of Idahoans under Medicaid expansion, residents now have a chance to comment publicly about a proposal that will enhance healthcare options for hundreds, if not thousands, of Idahoans.

The State Department of Health and Welfare will be taking public comments on the IMD waiver to Medicaid expansion which would provide resources for those suffering from mental health and substance abuse problems.

“This is exactly what Medicaid Expansion is all about – providing healthcare to people most in need who cannot afford it otherwise,” said Reclaim Idaho Co-Founder Luke Mayville. “This enhancement to Medicaid Expansion could be a life-line to countless Idaho families across the state.”

If approved, the IMD waiver could provide much needed funding for Idahoans battling opioid addiction and other substance abuse problems.

The comment period for the IMD waiver runs through December 24, 2019. Public hearings are scheduled Dec. 2 and 3 in Boise. Link to Idaho Dept. of Health & Welfare Press release is here.
